At least 8 people were killed as crowds gathered at Travis Scott concert

At least eight people were killed and dozens were injured when a crowd of people pushed toward the stage during a concert in Houston, officials said Saturday. The incident happened around 7 pm Friday.

According to the fire department, about 50,000 people were present at the event. People said they were in the back when the shooting started.

In response to the tragedy, President Donald Trump pledged to help the victims and their families.


Twenty-three people were treated for various injuries, while 11 of them had a cardiac arrest, the police chief said. He said about 300 people were treated at the scene.

 A comprehensive investigation was carried out to establish the cause of the cardiac arrest that led to their deaths.

The city's mayor said they're looking into several possible causes of the incident, including heart attack and accidental cardiac arrest.

Investigators were reviewing video and interviewing witnesses to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident, which happened around midnight.

Turner said he had worked with Mr Scott's family and had not spoken to the musician or his relatives since the incident.

The authorities established reunification centers for the families of the victims. 

A hotel near the stadium was set up to accommodate the families of the victims.

Tristan Birle, a deputy sheriff, came to the hotel to check on a cousin who was staying there. He was relieved to find that he and his companions were unharmed.

A video posted online showed a man asking a cameraman to stop filming a protest, claiming that people were dying. Others were heard insulting the reporter.

Live Nation, the concert's organizer, promised to give investigators access to the video. Investigators said they did not believe the incident was caused by the crowd.

A judge said at a news conference that she and her family were devastated by the deaths of at least four people who were killed at a music festival in Texas that was started by rapper Scott.

The lineup for the event, which was held at the Isle of Wight, included artists such as Yves Tumor, Roddy Rich, and Earth Wind & Fire. Fights broke out among the crowd.


As the tension grew and the crowd tried to move on, the concerts continued. 

Following the tragic incident, rapper Lil Wayne said that it was the crowd's fault, and that they were just trying to get closer to the stage, which caused them to become suffocating.

Angel Rodriguez, a high school student, said that as the crowd started to move around him, someone close to him passed away. He and his friend were among the survivors of the mass shooting at a concert in Houston.

Nick said it was hot and humid, and he and his friends were surrounded by people. Travis Scott continued to perform, even though he was not feeling well.

Angel, who was on the ground when the incident happened, said he saw groups of people falling as he saw them. He also saw people trying to help him, while others were unconscious and trying to help those around them.

Nick and Angel said they wanted to have fun, but nobody expected to die. Molly said the atmosphere was different from her previous experiences, and she blames the crowd for not taking responsibility for themselves.

Vanessa Johnson, who was in the crowd at the Staples Center, said she had seen Mr Scott perform many times, and had never seen people ignore unconscious bodies.


  

People said they felt completely surrounded by the crowd. 

They described feeling like they were being crushed.

Julian Pons, who was with his friend Brooke Johnson at the time, said that the crowd started panicking after the rapper stopped the show.

When he saw the crowd, Mr. Ponce thought the people were already deceased. He and another student saw a man helping a woman who had collapsed.

People screamed "Move! Step!" as the performance began.

According to witnesses, they helped a man who had collapsed during the concert. However, the man, who was not in the hospital, was later told that he had not found his friend.



According to eyewitnesses, they felt like they were being crushed by the crowd. Brooke Johnson and Julian Pons said they saw people die after the rapper stopped the concert.
